Exam Standards Framework

Exam Standards Framework

The Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) Exam Standards Framework is based on industry testing standards from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). These two organizations are global leaders in testing and accreditation standards for the purpose of licensure/certification of professionals. Development of the Exam Standards Framework document was completed in collaboration with a Canadian independent testing expert.

Identified in the Exam Standards Framework are the applicable minimum standards that must be met for an entry-to-practice exam to meet the rigorous evaluation requirements of NANB as a nursing regulator.  This Exam Standards Framework may be useful for examination developers. The NANB Exam Standards Framework may also be useful in informing members of the public, as well as other stakeholder groups about the necessary minimum criteria in entry exam development.
