Meet NANB language proficiency requirements

Meet NANB language Proficiency requirements by:

  1. Achieving benchmark scores on an approved language proficiency test (NANB approved language tests);
  2. Holding current registration in another Canadian jurisdiction;
  3. Completing a nursing program in either English or French; or
  4. Providing other evidence of language proficiency for review.

Evidence of Language Proficiency

If you are not able to demonstrate language proficiency through your nursing program, registration status, or your results on a language proficiency test, then the following types of evidence may also be considered by NANB.

Work Experience in Nursing

If you have nursing (RN or LPN) work experience within the last two years in English or French, NANB will consider whether your experience meets the evidence of language requirements.
