Step 4

Demonstrate currency of practice

Submit a Currency of Practice Affidavit.

To demonstrate currency of practice you must have:

Practiced a minimum of 1125 hours as an RN within the past 5 years; or
Have graduated from a registered nurse education program within the past 5 years.

If you have worked fewer than 1125 hours as an RN, you may still apply and must provide a submission of a Currency of Practice Affidavit confirming the hours practiced. You will be required to complete the NANB Adaptation Program (see below).

Candidates who have not practiced in the past 5 years do not meet the currency requirements and will be required to complete a competency assessment through Inspire Global Assessments or complete an IEN Bridging Program.

NANB Adaptation Program
If you have worked fewer than 1125 hours as an RN, you will be required to complete the NANB Adaptation Program.

The NANB Adaptation Program consist of the following:
- Successful completion of NANB Mandatory Learning. Please note that this is completed on-line and requires submission of an attestation of completion form.
- Successful completion of a Supervised Clinical Experience (600 hours) provided by a New Brunswick employer.
- Competency Assessment: Supervised Clinical Experience (SCE) Form
