The CCP is a prospective process where you plan what you are going to learn in the upcoming practice year to ensure you maintain your competency to provide safe, competent and ethical care.
There are four steps to meeting the CCP requirements:
- Self-Assessment: Assessing your practice to determine your learning needs.
- Learning Plan: Developing, implementing and evaluating your learning plan.
- Learning Module: Completion of NANB’s mandatory learning module. To access log into your My Profile.
- Record of Learning Activities (optional): Record of your participation in learning activities throughout the year.
All RNs and NPs must complete the CCP annually as part of their registration renewal requirements. For the timelines to complete each step, refer to the CCP Annual Planning Guide.
The CCP is meant to be an ongoing process throughout the year. You may need to revisit your CCP in the event of a change in your practice setting or nursing responsibilities as your learning needs may change.
For guidance on accessing and completing your CCP online, refer to the Guide to the Continuous Competency Program (CCP) via ‘My Profile'.
