In a decision dated June 26, 2025, a panel of the NANB Complaints Committee accepted a Consent Agreement between NANB and Eberechukwu Doris Uzozie (Registration Number 033988). Ms. Uzozie admitted to failing to understand her employer’s admission process policy, facing challenges with getting accustomed to the forms and sheets used by her employer for multidisciplinary and LTCF care plan meetings, needing clarifications regarding some medical abbreviations, failing to produce detailed and prompt documentation, failing to insert a patient’s catheter after multiple attempts and failing to fully and promptly document the attempts, almost giving medications to a patient at the incorrect time, and having to seek guidance to do a medication administration with a tuberculin syringe. Ms. Uzozie admitted that the complaint also raised additional issues, including having insufficient clinical knowledge, failing to retain information, and lacking critical thinking, communication, and prioritization skills.
Ms. Uzozie has voluntarily agreed to the following conditions on her registration:
- Remedial education related to professional nursing in Canada and professional communication;
- Performance evaluations from her employer(s) from the date of her return to the active practice of nursing;
- Supervision by a Registered Nurse or a Nurse Practitioner for the first 600 practice hours from the date of her return to the active practice of nursing;
- Not working independently as a self-employed Registered Nurse or in a supervisory role;
- Providing each employer and regulatory body with which she is registered with a copy of the Consent Agreement and Complaints Committee’s decision and advising NANB of any change in address or employer.
