NANB Career Opportunity: Nurse Manager Registration
The Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager for the Registration Department. The Nurse Manager Registration is fully engaged in supporting the NANB mandate and Board of Directors. The Nurse Manager Registration oversees and supports the staff and the operational plan of the registration department. The Nurse Manager Registration would work closely with and report to the Director of Nursing/Deputy Registrar.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Promote a healthy working environment.
- Staff oversight, including attendance management, scheduling, and performance reviews.
- Promote staff work productivity and professional development.
- Oversight of the NANB Registration department operational plan(s); in support of the NANB’s strategic plan.
- Create, develop, and review policies and procedures, in consultation with the DON/DR, for the department by following best and emerging practices.
- Monitors the Registration departments’ day-to-day activities.
- Participates in interviewing and orientation of new staff in consultation with the DON/DR.
- Provide guidance, in collaboration with the DON/DR as needed, to staff.
- Collaborate and communicate with other NANB team members to facilitate the organization’s desired results.
- Responds to queries from staff, registrants, and public as requested.
- Bring concerns/issues to the DON/DR as needed in a timely fashion.
- Promote the good name and reputation of NANB.
- Ensure sensitive information is kept confidential or under embargo as needed and directed by the DON/DR.
- Foster effective relations with provincial and federal government representatives and all other stakeholders and members.
- Manages complex registration case files, ensures follow-up, and refers to DON/DR or Registrar as needed in timely fashion.
- Manages various projects as needed.
Skills and Qualifications

- Developed good networks and public relations skills with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong in communications, interpersonal skills, personal relationship building and conflict management resolution.
- Experience completing literature and jurisdictional reviews and document development.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work; manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to produce professional written documents.
- Competence in basic statistics interpretation and concepts of evidence informed practice.
- Knowledge of multiple computer platforms, and Office 365 technology.
- Must hold registration in good standing with NANB, or be eligible for registration in New Brunswick.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Graduate degree in nursing would be an asset.
- Excellent communication skills in both official languages (listen, read, write, speak).
- Minimum 10 years in nursing practice and/or regulatory environments with 5 years in supervisory/management roles.
- Knowledge and experience in the nursing profession, nurses’ role in health systems, and role of professional regulatory organizations.
