Nurse Refresher Program

The Nurse Refresher Program is designed to assist non-practising practicing nurses to meet the requirements for registration, and to assist practising practicing nurses to refresh their knowledge and skills.

NANB has approved the Nursing Re-Entry Program offered through Edmonton’s Grant McEwan College for eligible candidates living in New Brunswick, who are interested in re-entering the nursing profession. (CRNNS) Refresher students are required to hold an NANB membership (practicing or non-practicing) while enrolled in the Nurse Refresher Program.

The curriculum has a self-paced modular theory component which covers nursing issues throughout the lifespan and a clinical component of approximately 160 hours. The program can be completed in four to twelve months.

The curriculum is based on the Canadian Nurses Association’s “Blueprint for the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination.”
