Organizational Structure of NANB
A 12 member board of directors establishes policy for the Association according to its vision. Nine nurses are elected to the board through a mail ballot. The three public members are appointed by the Minister of Health and the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
NANB is a member of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA). CNA is a national federation representing and speaking on behalf of the nursing profession both nationally and internationally. The President of NANB is a voting member of the CNA Board of Directors. Through the CNA, NANB is represented on the International Council of Nurses (ICN), and participates in activities that influence nurses and the nursing profession in many countries throughout the world.
The Nurses Association employs a full and part-time staff that carries out the day-to-day operations of the organization, under the leadership of the Executive Director.
