Scholarships for Members

Deadline for submissions is March 31, 2010
Did you know that together, the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) and the Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) provide two annual scholarship awards?  The awards are worth $5,000 each, and the criteria are that the nurse must be registered with the NANB, and enrolled part-time or full-time in a Masters program at a Canadian academic institution.

The positions of Directors for region 1, 3, 5, and 7 will be elected for a two-year term consecutively beginning on September 1, 2010. Here are the Nominees:

Lucie-Anne Landry
Director—Electoral Region 1

  • Reason for accepting nomination: “I believe very strongly that nurses should participate in the Nurses Association, both at the local and provincial level, as a means of advocating for and influencing decisions that affect nurses every day work life. Only by actively participating, can we make sure that our opinions are heard and that our Region is well represented. I look forward to representing my Region 7 colleagues at the provincial level, and welcome their input so that I do my best to bring their concerns and issues forward.”

Nominations are required to replace committee members on the Nursing Education Advisory Committee, the Complaints Committee and the Discipline/Review Committee for a two-year term effective September 2010. Nomination form to be completed and returned to NANB by March 31, 2010.


A.    NURSING EDUCATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
        Requires the following nomination:

        1)  One university nurse educator from UNB Saint John
        2)  One recent nurse graduate

B.    COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE:
        Requires the following nominations:

        1)  One nurse who shall be a past member of the Board
        2)  Three bilingual nurses from any chapter except York-Sunbury Chapter.
        3)  One public member

C.    DISCIPLINE/REVIEW COMMITTEE
        Requires the following nominations:

        1) Three bilingual nurses from any chapter except Moncton and
            Edmundston Chapters
        2) Four English nurses from any chapter except Moncton and
            Edmundston Chapters.
